Ben Jones Visits Car Radio Skipton

winner_test001_small

Ben Jones visits the Car Radio Skipton team and gets a glimpse of the fantastic products going into his one off custom car audio build. As Ben stood back in awe, the Car Radio Skipton team made up of Dave Legg, Carlo Corbin & Peter Preston all jumped into his Vauxhall Astra and began the planning process; with mentions of black leather, carbon fibre, engraved perspex and blue lighting, Ben could not wipe the smile from his face.

A plan was made along with a lengthy shopping list of materials needed to create this one off custom install. One thing is for sure its going to be something special but Ben is going to have to wait just a little bit longer till Modified Nationals 2013 on May 25th & 26th where his build will be created LIVE in front of the public in the main event hall within 48hrs!

I can tell you now as I know what is planned for the car, the build team will not be getting much sleep as they attempt a 7 day build in just 2 days! The option of designing a less time consuming build was not an option and the Car Radio Skipton team can not wait to get stuck in!

Pioneer launches powerful, space saving amplified subwoofer, perfect for small car owners

TS-WX710A_c

Pioneer has launched a new ultra-flat amplified subwoofer for in-car use that generates powerful, rich bass sound without sacrificing boot space.

The TS-WX710A active car subwoofer is only 32cm deep and requires an extremely small enclosure, making it the ideal subwoofer for small car owners who want the benefits of added bass in their cars, but are not fond of the inconvenience associated with large subwoofer enclosures. With its ultra-flat, anti-scratch design, the new subwoofer can lay flat with luggage stacked on top or stand upright behind the seats.

The TS-WX710A is constructed with great attention to detail, maximising the performance of the two 16cm subwoofers inside. Its space-saving enclosure houses a MOSFET 200W amplifier and features a symmetrical back-loaded horn structure to reproduce rich, vivid and speedy bass; an unexpected sound from a subwoofer this size. Its rigid enclosure with tough polyurethane skin is anti-scratch, allowing luggage to be placed on top of the subwoofer without damaging it. Removable straps keep the TS WX710A securely mounted, while still making removal quick and easy if more storage space is required. The new subwoofer comes with a wired remote to easily tune gain, phase and LPF.

Girish Janday, product executive at Pioneer, said:

“The TS-WX710A is a great subwoofer for those with small vehicles who want great sound without being forced to compromise on space. Its durable scratch-proof surface means that even if space is at a premium, the unit won’t get damaged and still produce exceptional audio quality.”

Other Pioneer active subwoofers include the TS-WX110A oval cone sealed-type amplified subwoofer, the TS-WX206A band pass amplified subwoofer, the TS-WX210A sealed amplified subwoofer and the TS WX610A 6th order bandpass spare tyre amplified subwoorder.

TX-WX710A features:

  • Dimensions: 850 x 320 x 90 mm (W x H x D)
  • Ultra-flat, anti-scratch design
  • Built-in MOSFET amplifier
  • Maximum output power: 200 Watt
  • Nominal output power: (50W x 2) 100 Watt
  • Speaker: 16 cm x 2 subwoofer
  • Rated frequency range: 25 – 200 Hz
  • Symmetrical back loaded horn structure
